PART II: The last time I went to Homebake...

After the final strum of the guitar rung out, my security guard friend came over to me and kindly advised that, unfortunately, we would have to move. That those crazy funny punks, Frenzal Rhomb, were lined up for the next slot and it was well known that their comedic brand of feral fun and raucous antics would have the crowd in a gravity defying onslaught, up and over the barrier and potentially on top of us.

As it would seem, this was not all bad news. That lovely old chap, with his fluoro orange vest, industrial ear muffs and a trusty walkie talkie, had contacted the sound engineer in the tower and told him that we were to be given access to the top viewing platform. Fantastic!

I raced Amanda and I off to our new bird’s eye view destination. It was not without struggle, mind you and I certainly proved my muscle power and determination as I hoisted Amanda up the 3 story high tower. The view of the main stage could not have been any more perfect and the advantage of being in the same spot as the sound engineer ensured us of the best quality of sound.

From there we witnessed some stellar performances from Frenzal Rhomb, Pacifier (Shihad), The Porkers, Jebediah, Something for Kate and Gerling, revelling in our prime position in the shade above the masses of increasingly sunburnt festival freaks below. Until...

...Amanda felt the need to pee.

To be continued...
