I was going to leave this as a comment...

...but I thought it would be better as a blog entry because of the strength of my opinion. An opinion which I hope reaches a lot of readers' eyes and minds, and challenges the perceptions of beauty that too many impressionable people have. I have tried to keep my blogging limited to achievements, efforts or experiences of mine that relate to this competition, however, after reading a certain entrant's blog I strongly felt the need to voice my thoughts on such a sensitive topic:

While I think the effort you've gone to in terms of your blogs for this competition is exceptional, I do think that attacking a prepubescent child for their natural, physical appearance is quite horrible. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that it is just down right nasty and obviously not very well thought out.

I don't believe your intentions were meant to offend or upset anyone, instead provide a humorous addition to your growing collection of musings (despite being at the expense of a defenceless young girl), however I do question the integrity behind the ridicule.

Putting someone down in order for one's own (possible) self gain is definitely something I would reconsider doing. Especially, if you do not wish to be perceived as a superficial, judgemental and close-minded individual.

The ridiculous amount of pressure that is bestowed upon everyone in this day and age, of air-brushed magazines and Hollywood/porn industry perfection, to fulfil some stereotypical ideal of physical beauty, does not need to be fed any more than it unfortunately already is.

Let's stop the insecure, shallow, bullshit criticisms of others just because they may or may not fit our own personal standard of what is considered aesthetically pleasing.

True beauty comes from the heart. From love, passion, purity, honesty innocence and courage.
