Overlooking the majestic Sydney Harbour Bridge and the iconic Opera House from 30-odd floors above ground in a swish apartment while waiting to interview an artist that is so highly respected and quite obsessively admired (by myself included), certainly stirred up a vast array of emotions. Nervous, excited and completely taken back by the beauty of the harbour, I was actually quite surprised at my well retained composure.

Although it wasn't the first time I had the pleasure of interviewing Tori Amos for FasterLouder, this time it wasn't over a long distance phone call, and nothing could really prepare me for the intensity, warmth, energy and sincerity, that talking with the red-haired chanteuse face-to-face would bring.

Incredibly thoughtful, effortlessly entertaining, and here to promote her latest musical masterpieces, Abnormally Attracted to Sin and her seasonal offering Midwinter Graces, Tori discussed at length her current live shows, emotional vampires and the importance of choosing where and when to invest time in relationships in this current economic climate. However, it was her tirade on religious leaders that proved that Tori hasn't lost any of her fire.

The best part about the interview though, was getting to ask her why I should win My World Tour.

I can't even begin to describe how much this means to me. To have the respect and confidence of someone that I have admired for YEARS, and for her to publicly praise me for my interview, has funnily enough, left me speechless. (Lucky I can still type!)

The rest of the interview with Tori is below - although editing down 25 minutes worth of footage down to under 10 minutes proved very difficult because everything that Tori said was gold.
