Hi, hope you are well and had great holidays… Did you get to check out any of the recent festivals?? Tis the season! O ya x I’m just dropping a line, in search of some likeminded others who would be keen, committed, collaborate and produce some major events among the music and entertainment industry in OZ… (One of my events gained a position in the Smirnoff’s Promoters Grant short-list. Refer to my profile page for exp, history, skills etc www.myworldtour.com.au/4sound) I’ve been involved in ‘various music scenes’ for years, resulting to collections of relevant info, knowledge, market research and identification of new market spaces and there is room for growth in the industry! We are in an important time in our music industry, considering the rapid technology changes, music and genre exposure through airplay, festival line-ups etc, social networking, communication, revenue outlets, support etc! Within these accesses and settings, new enhancements can be formed…. Too cut a long story short, I’m looking for a selected few serious, people to join me in a group and conduct some major plans via events and the entertainment industry. The team is basically like a dedicated band, everyone has similar goals and objectives to achieve the same results and work equally as hard to get there quickly. Though no-one said things would be easy! I’m based in G.C QLD but have concepts to go nationally and internationality with some events. (Therefore I’m also looking for contacts with similar goals or services in alternate states.) Hey Chantel, this competition has been a pretty cool experience ey? I mean it certainly has encouraged me to get up off my arse and to get out and about whilst blogging about it. Even getting an idea of what my musically inspired peers are up to has been a really eye opening experience, as you stated, all 3999+ of them. Anyways, I said it a month or two back and I will say it again, if you aren't in the top picks for this competition then something is seriously wrong. I meant to write something to you the other day, but difficulties with my stupid encoding program caused me to waste a day trying to get a video up and online... I was going to write to you and say, "I'm a Canon girl too". I had an amazing 50mm 1.4 and it was mistakenly taken on my way home from NYC a few months ago. I loved it, it was the most amazing baby ever. I recently replaced it with a second hand lense from Ebay, but I feel something isn't right with the lense and I just can't get the feel I could before. Oh well. I hope you find every good thing in the year to come and best of luck. x

Just wondering if you know whether the profile vies are pretty much instant (i.e. real time)? As I have been getting anyone who would listen to view my profile but the views recorded dont seem to change, but I know there has been a number of people on there... So I camped out at FALLS in Lorne, VIC over New Years, saw some amazing moments, heard some rocking tunes, met a lot of intriguing individuals and managed to get some My World Tour research in there too!!!

Like a good kiss, a good gig can leave you feeling elated and wanting more. Drums mimic the fast beat of your heart. The lead vocal taking you away to a place that doesn’t even exist. Like love, you shout out the lyrics for the world to hear. You look around to your friends who are smiling back at you with a grin that simply says “I know”. And so like good kisses, I have experienced many good bands, but which one was the most memorable? Which one will I compare against all others from now on? I ask myself was this particular gig good because I wasn’t expecting it? Or perhaps it was the people I was there with? Maybe it was just because it was familiar and I trusted it and in doing so they took me to new levels. The band was Regurgitator 2008 MMF. It was raining like I can never remember it raining before. It was like the earth had saved up 2 years worth of water supply and dumped it on us at that very moment. The fluorescent lights were dancing with the water, you could see the crowd breathing. There was no stopping The Gurg. It was like the band had been taken over by a force bigger than them. With mud splattering around me, my friend grabbed me and hoisted my up on his shoulders. I looked up at the dark sky, let the rain hit me hard in the face, closed my eyes and let the music take my in and take me over. I was a meter from the front. I honestly swear to you it was like I was doing a duet with Quan Yeoman’s himself. Which brings me to my question? What was your favourite gig? Where, when and why? I am interested to hear what rocked your world....

I've been looking over my blurry ass, second rate shots, reading back over my badly written notes and thinking through my blurry memories, annoyed, wishing someone had documented the awesomeness when I remembered...Chantel has!! Her various blogs, articles and photos, document the last few years and months, and all those great times!! Not just the bands, there's pics of the pit and the crowd and people dressed up outside, the pubs after where we all went to catch up after the gigs and festivals and discuss the gig and day. Looked back through your profile and all your articles and it's been an awesome year and looks like being great next year too..Thanx woman!! Can't wait for more xx

You must pick Chantel, without prompting she'll get to the front at a gig, get the best photos and report the best blog. She knows the bands and will list all the details we care to know about. She can structure and write a well-rounded article and won't waste time telling us dumb details like what she ate or the colour of her shit. She'll wait side or backstage to ask the kinda questions we want answers to and has an ability to talk to anyone, famous or not. You can see from her previous work how great she is, and that she's been doing this kinda thing all her life. As well as all the above she's articulate, talented, intelligent and really nice to look at....and the girl knows how to ROCK!!

I have PBS Live Music week interviews - Legends of Motorsport, KRAM, The Thod, The UV Race, The Oh Sees from the 7th to 11th of this month. OH YEAH! and the PBS Live Music Week Launch on Sunday the 6th I also have Bodyjar (the final interview..from my house) and 28 days interviews plus live footage. I will be bringing you interviews from Pyri Rock, Woodford folk fest, Falls (maybe). Im also waiting on my media pass for laneway fest. Plus a bunch of interviews from artists in Oslo, Germany, China, Thailand, USA and Australia Plenty comin! Interview with PBS general manager Adrian Basso will be up today. Talking to him about PBS live music week.

They make me miss home (Melbourne) more than any other photo's I have seen off this site. Darwin doesn't have a very big music scene. It's all cover bands up here. Bands and solo artist's who want to make it generally relocate to Melbourne/Sydney/Adelaide...so I don't get my music fix up here like I used to down south. However, I can live vicariously though the amazing photo's that you have taken haha
